Counselling Service

Southside’s independent Counselling Service offers people a way to understand difficult events and issues, and to find positive ways forward.

Common issues where support is needed include coping with domestic abuse, substance abuse, mental health difficulties, sexual abuse, depression, bereavement, self-harm, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder and serious eating problems.

We provide experienced, qualified and trustworthy counsellors. Support can be provided briefly or on a longer term basis, and we can combine individual and couple counselling.

Our counsellors are bound by the Code of Ethics and Practice laid down by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

“When I first met the lady from Southside I felt hopeless, just seen as a victim. Counselling has helped me to understand that I can cope, that I am not a failure.”
